Local Organizations Accept Money Donations - 9/3/2009

U.S. Bancorp Foundation has donated a total of $6,000 to local organizations, splitting the lump sum in half, $3,000 each.

Executive Director of Camp Discovery, Mary Wright gladly accepted the donation on their behalf.
Camp Discovery is a youth and adult river adventure for cancer survivors nationwide. The camp recently had a successful trip in July. The funds will go towards more adventures for cancer survivors.

Whitewater Therapeutic was the second organization to accept the $3,000 donation. Katie Cooper, chairman of the board accepted the check for Whitewater.
Whitewater Therapeutic plans on using the funds for improvement to the arena and developing the outdoor trail.

The outdoor trail will feature a pond, trees, a waterfall and bridge. They plan to build their own mountain for Therapeutic clients to use as well as a hiking trail for community members.

“As a strong community partner, U.S. Bank understands its role as significant supporter of the region’s non-profits through its U.S. Bancorp Foundation, and is proud to support these organizations,” according to a press release.

U.S. Bancorp, with $266 billion in assets, is the parent company of U.S. Bank, the sixth largest commercial bank in the United States. The company operates 2,850 banking offices and 5,173 ATMs in 24 states.
